Nationwide Refuse Rental Fleet

Heil Environmental announces that Big Truck Rental of Tampa, Florida has chosen Heil to be the new single provider for their nationwide fleet of refuse rental equipment.
Renting is a viable option for many haulers, especially for municipalities. Renting enables haulers to easily start a new collection contract or pick up an additional route without the typical upfront investment of purchasing, among other benefits. If a fleet unit is in for service, a rental truck can help maintain productivity and service levels. Rentals are also an ideal solution for managing emergency storm cleanup, seasonal demands, or other sudden situations where time is of the essence and expansion of service may be temporary.
According to Randy Brown, vice president of sales and marketing for Environmental Solutions Group, of which Heil is a part, the rental market segment for refuse equipment is underserved and growing. “We are pleased and proud that Big Truck Rental has chosen Heil refuse collection vehicles for their rental offering,” says Brown. “We work closely with our customers to engineer products that meet their specific needs. We are confident that our front loaders, rear loaders, automated side loaders, and roll-off units will deliver the productivity and performance that rental customers demand.”
Big Truck Rental is the only nationally recognized refuse truck rental company in the solid waste industry. They offer various rental contract options, ranging from one week to twelve months or more. By maintaining a rental offering of the newest, most productive collection vehicles, Big Truck Rental has the volume to meet multiple customer needs and can deliver rental units directly to customers quickly, within 24 hours in most cases.
“We are very excited about transitioning our fleet to Heil products,” says Robert Mecchi, vice president of business development for Big Truck Rental. “The Heil brand is well-known and respected in the industry, and the company has built strong relationships within the public, private, and municipal market segments. Because of that we will be able to leverage Heil’s extensive national dealer network to meet customer needs more quickly and efficiently than ever before.”

| | Petersen Industries, Inc. Awarded Patent on Innovative Crab Attachment |
Petersen Industries, Inc., manufacturer of grapple trucks and bulky waste collection systems, announces the issuance of U.S. Patent #8,079,799 B2 for the apparatus and method for lifting containers, an attachment known to Petersen as the “Crab”.
This patented device is a lifting apparatus, consisting of an elongated support bar with hook assemblies mounted on each end. The operator controls open and close functions of the hooks from a control platform behind the cab. A hydraulic cylinder and piston drives the hooks into various positions to securely connect into the pockets of an ANSI Z245.60 compliant container and maneuver it as needed. Petersen’s CP-3 container delivery system comes standard with this patented device, but the Crab can also be purchased as an interchangeable attachment on other Lightning Loader® models. To learn more about the Crab attachment and the diverse line of Lightning Loader® systems, visit Petersen online at www.petersenind.com.
ABOUT PETERSEN - Petersen Industries, Inc. manufactures equipment for the trash, agricultural, arboricultural, and aggregate markets. Petersen’s Lightning Loader® grapple truck is used by over 900 cities and counties nationwide, and by most major waste companies.
In the mid 1970's Petersen was asked to design a knuckleboom that could be used for loading bulky trash. The result was a trash loader concept that has been improved and refined over the last 30 years. With the exception of 3 or 4 purchased items, Petersen manufactures all other major components, including most hydraulic cylinders. With complete CNC machining capabilities and fabrication facilities, Petersen is able to control every aspect of schedule and quality control.

| | Wastequip Launches its Organics2Go Program |
Organics2Go is a Turnkey Solution for Organic Waste Collection, Transport and Storage
Wastequip, the leading North American manufacturer of waste handling and recycling equipment, has launched its exciting new Organics2Go program for the safe and easy collection, storage and transport of organic waste.
Key to the program’s success is a waste audit. Through the audit, Wastequip can customize a solution to meet any customer’s needs. Each program is designed based on the volume of organic waste typically generated at a site, as well as other customer priorities such as employee safety, product shrinkage, appearance and odor. Wastequip will then recommend a system that will help the customer reduce disposal costs, improve safety and meet sustainability objectives.
The Organics2Go line includes a wide range of products for the safe collection, storage and transport of organic waste including containers, carts, cart lifters, biofiltration systems and digesters in a variety sizes to nearly any organics recycling or disposal need.
Wastequip has introduced a series of specially designed containers to work in conjunction with the BiobiN® patented biofiltration system. The BiobiN system creates an aerobic environment for organic waste to minimize odors and the attraction of pests, allowing more time between pickups. Containers designed to complement the BiobiN system include a plastic organics front end load (FEL) container with a trap door lid for safe, easy loading. There are also several steel containers ranging in size from 3 to 20 cubic yards including the backpack container designed to eliminate spillage when the container is emptied as well as a steel organics front end load container and a steel roll-off container.
Wastequip also offers a full line of Toter brand stationary containers, two wheel carts and caster carts for collecting and transporting organics. These carts are manufactured using Toter’s Advanced Rotational Molding process for maximum durability in handling heavy, wet organic waste. In addition, Toter lifters offer an easy method for container emptying, improving employees’ safety and efficiency.
Wastequip offers a food digester, a self-contained, continual feed organic waste disposal system for customers that wish to reduce the volume of their organic waste. The digester biologically converts food waste into compostable material, reducing food waste by 90 percent and dramatically lowering hauling costs.
“Wastequip launched Organics2Go to be a leading provider of organic waste and recycling solutions for haulers and end-use customers,” said Anne Brantley, containers product manager for Wastequip. “We are excited to offer a complete program that addresses our customers’ organic waste handling needs.”
Wastequip is the leading North American manufacturer of waste and recycling equipment with an international network of 25 manufacturing facilities and the most extensive dealer network in North America. Wastequip’s broad range of waste and recycling equipment and systems are used to collect, process and transport recyclables, solid waste, liquid waste and organics. The company’s brands include Wastequip, Toter, Galbreath, Pioneer, Accurate, Cusco, Mountain Tarp and Parts Place. On the web at www.wastequip.com. |
